If you're working with a reporter or scopist who uses another CAT software there's a good chance you'll receive the transcripts in an RTF/CRE format. You can bring those transcripts into CATalyst using the Import feature.
From anywhere in Case CATalyst, click Functions, Import (Alt-u, i).
-
The Import dialog box displays.
On the left side under Import Source, click RTF/CRE.
On the right side under Import From, click the Browse button to locate the RTF/CRE files. The files display in the window below.
To display only Transcript, Dictionary, or Notes RTF/CRE files, click the down arrow next to Files of Type.
Click on a file to select it for import. For multiple files, hold down Ctrl and click the files.
-
Click OK to import the file. The message, "Import Complete", displays when finished. successful.
When you import multiple files, the Save As dialog box displays for you to save each file. If you checked the option, "Keep same filename as original system", and the filename does not currently exist, Case CATalyst names the files and completes the import.
Review the imported files. You may have to do some editing to the job like applying a layout or cleaning up some spacing due to CATalyst applying it's formatting to the job.
