MAXScribe Audio Decision Tree

Make sure all physical devices (microphones, headphones, etc.) are connected to your computer before opening MAXScribe.
NOTE: It is recommended that you disable Exclusive Mode on your speakers and microphone. Disabling this mode allows more availability of the audio device to more simultaneous applications. These settings will save after they have been set.

Click Capture, Streaming, then Continue.
A dialog box will appear saying you will be charged for streaming and asking if you wish to continue, click Yes.
The Capture dialog box displays. Click Options then the Audio tab.
The Capture Options dialog box displays.
Play for Me: Select which audio output device, for example your headphones, you’d like to hear the Live Monitoring audio, Confidence Monitoring audio, and the audio playback that only you want to hear during the Capture session.
Play for Others: Select which audio output device, for example an external speaker, to use when playing audio that you’d like the participants to be able to hear during the Capture session. For example, when asked to play the audio back for the last question.
Physical Input: Select None.
Virtual Input: Select CaseTestify Virtual Audio.
Record To: Specify where MAXScribe should save the audio recording file (*.sgmca). By default, the audio file will be saved to the same location as the job transcript. It is recommended to keep the audio file with the rest of the MAXScribe job files.
Open CaseTestify. Choose your preferred microphone and camera. Your speakers will automatically be set to the Windows Default Playback Device. If you need to change your microphone and/or camera during the job, please check out our article on Camera/Mic Switcher Explained.
Under Route Audio Output, all members on record should be assigned to individual channels.

Click Capture, then click Record Only and Continue.
The Capture dialog box displays, click Options.
The Capture Options dialog box displays. Make any necessary changes.
Play for Me: Select which audio output device, for example your headphones, you’d like to hear the Live Monitoring audio, Confidence Monitoring audio, and the audio playback that only you want to hear during the Capture session.
Play for Others: Select which audio output device, for example an external speaker, to use when playing audio that you’d like the participants to be able to hear during the Capture session. For example, when asked to play the audio back for the last question.
Physical Input: Select which audio input device, MAXScribe will use for the Capture session. If the audio input source selected is recording multiple channels, MAXScribe will detect the number of channels being recorded automatically. MAXScribe can support up to 50 audio channels. The input device with an asterisk is the current Windows Default Recording Device.
Virtual Input: Select None.

CaseTestify Devices:
Microphone: Your physical microphone or headset.
Camera: Your physical webcam.
Speaker: This is set automatically to what the Windows Default Playback Device is set to.
