Currently, MAXScribe cannot be used on Mac computers. Apple began using their own processor called the Apple M series processor in Nov. 2020 and no longer use Intel processors in Macs. This also means that Apple's Bootcamp program, no longer works with M processors. Windows 10 reached its End of Life in Oct. 2025 and is no longer supported by Microsoft and Apple has not officially supported Windows 11 on Bootcamp.

Programs like Parallels and VMWare Fusion create a virtual Windows environment on your Mac and are compatible with the M processor. We do not recommend using these programs as a solution since they run inside the Mac OS. This setup can cause issues with the amount of memory allocated to run Windows, Mac OS and MAXScribe at the same time.

These changes mean that Stenograph products are not compatible with Mac computers. Our recommendation is to use our products on a computer that meets our System Requirements. You can always contact Technical Support if you have questions about compatibility of our products on your computer.
