Manual e-key

Even if you do not connect your Catalyst computer to the Internet, you will need to reauthorize your PKC every 90 days. The Manual e-Key process to reauthorize your e-Key without internet access on your CATalyst computer.
In order to complete the Manual e-Key process you will need:
- A USB flash drive, external hard drive, or other external media.
- Another computer that has internet access.
TIP: While this method will renew your e-Key, there are many steps. If your computer does have the capability of getting internet access, you can connect the CATalyst computer to the internet, open CATalyst and let it automatically renew your e-Key, then disconnect from the internet when it's finished.
Once you have those things, proceed with the following steps:
- Plug in the external media on your CATalyst computer and make note of the drive letter Windows assigns. For this example we will be using D:\ as the drive letter.
- Open Catalyst and click on Help, About Case CATalyst.
In the About Case CATalyst dialog box, click Renew License.
In the e-Key Setup box, click Manual e-Key.
In the Manual e-Key dialog, click Save Authorization Request File.
The Save Authorization Request to File dialog appears. Browse to the drive letter of your external media (in this case D:) and click Save.
Eject the Flash drive and plug it into the internet computer. Again make a note of the drive letter and we'll continue to use drive D:\. Be aware, the drive letter may be different.
Click https://www.stenograph.com/ManualUpdate.aspx to open the Manual e-Key Update page.
Click the Select button.
An Open dialog box appears. Browse to your external drive, D:\, click the AuthRequest file, then click Open.
Click Submit and after a few seconds a Save dialog box appears.
Browse to the same external drive and click Save.
Eject the external drive and plug it back into your CATalyst computer.
Leave CATalyst closed. Open File Explorer and browse to the external drive.
Locate the e-Key file you saved earlier and double click on it. It will begin with the word "ekey" followed by a series of numbers.
CATalyst will open and Options Setup dialog will appear. Click Finished.
